The World Has Gone Mad

And let me just tell you...go ahead and try to take my gyros. My guns are one thing...my booze is another, I mean don't get me started about a beer or glass of wine after a tough day. But taking my gyros or a good cooked rack of lamb--that IS the last straw.

If taxing cow's flatulence isn't enough...

England has gone mad. Just mad.

What do they plan to do with these burping cows and sheep? Kill them off? I'm sorry--I might sound like an "animal extremist" here, but those cows and sheep and have just as much right to be on this earth as we do. It's a hierarchy--hence humans and carnivores eat cows and sheep. But my Lord put them on this planet just as he put me and you.

I will not have any government--especially one that can't keep their teeth clean and pretty--tell me that I can't have a gyro.

When is enough enough???

Jusy Say NO!...to water...?

While doing my morning blog rounds I came across a great LAUGH (h/t ALa). Apparently, Penn and Teller have decided to test just how "loyal" our environmentally conscious really are.

Apparently, they are so "environmentally conscious"--that WATER should be banned. Hmmm.

It also makes you wonder, how many petitions are signed without the signer truly knowing what they're supporting/against? When is enough enough? When will it be time for our fellow countrymen to begin thinking for themselves? Hopefully NOT before it is too late.

Shamelessly Taxing. This time, energy.

Well, another post about my FAVORITE guy, Mr. Geithner. As if being a tax cheat isn't enough, NOW he wants to tax American oil and gas companies because THEY are they ones that are responsible for Global Warming (and Our President has said he has NO qualms with gas being $4/gallon. Maybe because WE'RE paying for the gas he uses?!?!).

Hmmm...what happens when you raise taxes on companies, Mr. Geithner? Well, they raise PRICES on their consumers. Way to help out middle America, Mr. Secretary. Applause.

GetLiberty.org outlines this much better than I can...as I cannot separate my emotions at the moment. This guy is really pissing me off.

"There are two things profoundly wrong with this scenario.

First of all, the fact that a card-carrying tax cheat is dictating the nation’s weightiest tax policies is an abomination in and of itself.

Secondly, basing such monumental energy policies on the false premise of “Global Warming”—reinforced, of course, with junk science—should be a warning to all. This is particularly frustrating given the utter—and utterly unreported—lack of a consensus on the subject of anthropogenic climate change."

I don't know about you all, but I'm sure enjoying the gas prices at where they are now. Is anyone seeing a repeat of the Carter years when gas lines wrapped around city blocks?

From the Americans for Limited Government: Barack Obama is anxious to raise taxes on average citizens, and Mr. Obama and Secretary Geithner have no problem taxing energy producers that will only result in higher gas and oil prices! Tell Secretary Geithner to keep our gas prices low by calling his office at 202- 622-2000 telling him not target energy producers...or simply that the American people are on to him. TAX CHEAT.

Are Birds the Latest Threat?

Now, I can't decide if I need to be concerned for my own safety or the mental stability of birds...but something needs to be done.
Just days after the US Airways Jetliner was forced to make an emergency landing (because of some birds)--a helicopter for Baptist Health Center in Little Rock, Arkansas had to make an emergency landing...because of a bird.
Coincidence? Or should we start interrogating these birds (without the water board, of course)? Hmm...You never know. Al Quaeda could have found it's newest volunteer squad...GEESE.

Cold is Ridiculous.

That is why I live in the South. If I wanted to be cold, I'd move up North. But not to Maine or South Dakota.
"MONTPELIER, Vt. - Bone-chilling cold settled in Thursday from the Midwest to the Northeast Thursday, bringing teeth-chattering misery with temperatures that sank as low as 47 below zero.
In some places, the temperature was the lowest in years, including Chicago, where it was 11 below zero at O'Hare International Airport Thursday morning. It was the coldest daytime temperature in a more than a decade.
In Pollock, S.D., which dropped to a record-setting 47 below zero, Todd Moser, who works at a gas station, said it took about 10 minutes before the gas pumps started working. (source)"
Not sure if I can take too much more of this warming that's happening. The lows in NEW ORLEANS are even reaching below freezing!
Crazy.
....and I STILL can't figure out what my blog formatting is doing...anyone??? Why isn't it adding spaces between paragraphs?!?!?

Stinky Cow? That'll Be $175.

While "going green" is the latest craze...some proposals are beyond outrageous.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – For farmers, this stinks: Belching and gaseous cows and hogs could start costing them money if a federal proposal to charge fees for air-polluting animals becomes law...It would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about $175 for each dairy cow, $87.50 per head of beef cattle and $20 for each hog. The executive vice president of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation, Ken Hamilton, estimated the fee would cost owners of a modest-sized cattle ranch $30,000 to $40,000 a year." To see full article click here.
Does anyone else see a problem with this? Fine a farmer for a gassy cow? If you're going to play that game, you might as well have sports bars pay an annual fee for the amount of gassy men they let in and out of their establishment. Humans don't smell good, either...and I'm pretty sure pollute the air with their own flatulence.
I'll be the first to say that I hate cruelty to animals. I hate it. At the same time, however, I love me a good steak. While PETA has great intentions (let's bankrupt American farmers--then they can't raise/kill cows), this particular proposal will do much more harm than good. First, we live in a country that's unemployment rate is increasing daily. Let's add more!! What fun. Second, Americans are still going to want to eat meat. If we can't get it here in the States--let's do the next best thing: IMPORT!! (doesn't that mean less money to the States as well?) Finally, I'm not sure how it is in other states--but my state has an animal overpopulation. The wildlife are DYING because there is not enough food to go around for them. The Fish and Game Commission have created special "hunting seasons" to try and reduce the overpopulated herds. What are we going to do with all the livestock if PETA has it's way?
