Constituents AGAINST Universal/National Healthcare

If our representatives actually did their job they would see that the MAJORITY are adamently opposed to a nationalized or universal healthcare system.

On Facebook, someone has created a poll that asks, "Are you in favor of a government run healthcare system?" The answers say quite I bit.

Yes 28,529 (19.9%)

No 110,237 (77.0%)

Maybe 4,489 (3.1%)

I belive that some form of reform is necessary. But reform needs to START in areas that we already have major issues: Regulate lawsuits, fix Medicare/Medicaid and the VAs. Social Security anyone?

Don't mess with people's private insurance (which--on page 16 of the House proposal BANS private insurance). Don't take away American's freedom to choose. Don't penalize small business owners...*sigh* I could go on and on.

Here's one for you: how about our representatives READ the bill before forcing us (We the People) to use the insurance or pay a fine. How about these politicians that are just swearing to us that this in the best thing next to sliced bread actually enroll in this system and not get exempt?

And the only replies I'm seeing from "pro-healthcare" are pretty nasty. "Republicans are stupid." "You just don't know." "Social security worked." Egad.

Not to mention this (h/t Moogie):

THanks for the H/T. I'm listening to The Annointed's "performance de jour" and trying to Zen my blood pressure down!

I'm happy with my current health care and don't want to be forced at some point to a change.

no wonder men do not like to look at roadmaps or ask for directions - it's reminiscent of one messed up family tree too!

I saw a Brit commentator on Glenn Beck who said he found it unbelievable that the US would consider socialized medicine. He reminded us that the system in GB was implemented during WWII, when there was little choice, and no amount of "tweaking" could provide needed care to those wounded in the attacks from Germany. Given ANY choice, he finds it incredible that we would do this to ourselves.
Here is a well-said and thoughtful view, from a relative who shall remain anonymous only because he may not appreciate being quoted in public:
"You're preaching to the choir. The greatest catastrophe in our lifetime is about to fall on our heads, and it's self-inflicted.
ObamaCare achieves "affordable" medical coverage by excluding those who need it most, offers "universal" coverage to those who merit it least, and diverts funds away from healthcare to untrained functionaries committed to subverting the hippocratic oath.
Those knowing the British and Canadian systems have a hint of what's in store. Innovation and excellence are sacrificed for "uniformity", the medical community loses motivation, creativity is stifled, and the system atrophies. In England, hospitals must now advertise for medical staff in countries like Pakistan because too few Britons wish to enter the field. Treatment is mediocre at best for common maladies, but beyond those it's almost impossible to obtain at any level -- and forget about research. It's less calamitous for them, though, because they weren't that good to begin with, but we are intentionally dismantling the finest medical system in the world.
We're getting what we deserve, because Obama and Congress are doing just as promised when we elected them. They actually seem to believe their own pre-digested rhetoric -- but those behind the scenes are smart enough to understand, so I wonder about their motives. Whatever they are must be important, because they've decreed that any objectors are "subversives" (Nazis, right-wing zealots, maybe even Al Qaida!), that objections be reported to authorities, and that further free discussion is counterproductive...
The electorate have sown the wind and now will reap the whirlwind."
