That has to be one of the most un-American statements I’ve ever heard. I’m still proud to be an American even though I don’t agree with the leadership to date. I’ll never stop being proud to be American. People that make those comments disgust me.

One wonders whether those "proud" Americans are in reality talking about pride or hubris.
I wonder if W. took a page from the Clintons' Book of Class and removed the O's from all the White House keyboards. My guess is that he did not.
I also am tired of hearing proud to be an American again. I am also sick of the term African American President. How about Mullatto President, Quadroon President, or Octoroon President depending on the percentage of Arab and Black blood.
